“On-Camera” Television Audition Technique Casting Director Workshop
1-Day Intensive (3-hour)
-
Scott David, CSA – Scott David Casting
This is a PREPARED-reading workshop. Learn how to present a strong image during an audition. This educational workshop emphasizes character development, believability and overall effectiveness of a scene. Actors will all remain in the room (for the full 3 hours) for a Q&A, individual greeting/headshot & resume review by Scott, and a one-on-one reading with Scott (for which you will receive detailed feedback and redirection). Plus, learn about: what casting directors are looking for; how to get work; do’s and dont’s of auditioning; and much more! Approximately 20 actors.
*Prepared readings are selected by the actor, maximum of 3 minutes. (This is your own scene choice that will best represent your essence as an actor; Please bring in a copy of your scene –highlighted for Scott ). If you cannot find a scene, we will select one for you. We have a selection of over 200 scenes on our website, if needed: http://hollywoodactingworkshop.com/calendar/sides
Please come rehearsed and bring a highlighted copy of your scene for Scott (as he will read one-on-one with you in front of the class). The scene should be approximately 2 minutes (with Scott it is quality, not quantity). We suggest that your scene be age-appropriate, contemporary (something that you could be cast for in recent times), and should reflect a character that you think you are best suited to play (that is, through your role selection, the audience will see what type of character you believe you are best suited to play). This should tell Scott and the audience that you know yourself as an actor (that is, what your stereotype/brand is; in other words, guide the audience into seeing where you would fit on television). If you do not have a scene, we can find one for you….or you may find one on our website: http://hollywoodactingworkshop.com/calendar/sides
