Michael Torbiak – Casting Associate / Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!
Michael has been at Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! for over 2 years (approximately 360 episodes). He and the Casting Director, Cecilia Pleva, co-manage the casting department together and share all casting responsibilities. They are the only TWO in the department.
They cast 30-40 actors weekly!!! In January, they will be taping 4, and sometimes 5, days a week.

Learn how to present a strong image during a TV audition and cold reading. This educational workshop emphasizes character development, believability and overall effectiveness of a scene. Actors will read scenes (partnered) and will receive detailed feedback and redirection (as needed). Plus, learn about: what casting directors and associates are looking for; how to get work; do’s and dont’s of auditioning; and much more!! This is a cold-read workshop (material will be given to you AT the workshop; nothing to prepare).

Michael Torbiak, Casting Associate, has been discovering new talent and working with some of the top names in film and TV at MTV, BRAVO and E! for nearly a decade. For the last two years, he has been assisting in casting the comedy segments on ABC’s JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! The show casts actors on a daily basis for on camera work and voiceover plus dancers and musicians, often bringing in talent on a moment’s notice for that night’s show. Torbiak works closely with KIMMEL’s writers and directors to cast bits for the show’s monologue and pre-taped segments involving celebrity talent on a regular basis. This is your opportunity to get on Michael Torbiak’s short list of available talent for the many JIMMY KIMMEL comedy bits they cast, and learn what it takes to do the work on late night television. Michael is in the process of updating his imdb profile (which does not reflect all of his work).

Cancellation of Casting Director Workshops
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy for Casting Director Workshops. If you cancel prior to 48 hours, you will receive a credit in the amount you paid towards a future workshop. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. If you cancel within 48 hours of the workshop and we are unable to fill your spot, or if the class is not full or there is no one to take your spot off the waiting list, you will be responsible for full payment. In the event that a instructor or casting director cancels and a comparable replacement cannot be scheduled for that same date, your fee will be applied to a future workshop of your choice.
