Learn how to present a strong image for soap opera auditions. This educational workshop will cover: believability and overall effectiveness; how to prepare for the audition; breaking down the script; what casting directors are looking for; how to get work; do’s and don’ts of soap opera auditioning; and much more! Actors will read audition copy (individual and/or partner), and will receive detailed feedback and redirection.

This 1-day workshop will be instructed by:
Don Phillip Smith is one of Hollywood’s most experienced instructors. Don is an Emmy Award-nominated Producer/Director/Casting Director with years of television experience on such series as CBS’ “The Young and the Restless”, “CSI: Miami”, “Medium”, NBC’s “Passions” and Aaron Spelling’s “Sunset Beach”. Currently, he is a member of the directing team at CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” He is also co-casting a new CW pilot in contention for the upcoming fall television season. As well, he is the Producer of a new HBO pilot currently in-development.

Cancellation of Casting Director Workshops

There is a 48-hour cancellation policy for Casting Director Workshops. If you cancel, you will receive a credit in the amount you paid towards a future workshop. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. If you cancel within 48 hours of the workshop and we are unable to fill your spot, or if the class is not full or there is no one to take your spot off the waiting list, you will be responsible for full payment. In the event that a instructor or casting director cancels and a comparable replacement cannot be scheduled for that same date, your fee will be applied to a future workshop of your choice.
