“On-Camera” Television and Film Acting–Audition & On-Set Training (with scene study) Class

**Learn practical “on-camera” television and film acting techniques, focusing on  the  entire cycle from the audition process…to booking the role and bringing all of the elements together on set (ie, on-set training). Training will include video playback and review with individual critiques.

Get your training from a CASTING DIRECTOR who is also a DIRECTOR and a PRODUCER of daytime and primetime network television–and therefore, knows exactly what is needed at auditioning & on the set!!

AUDITION PROCESS: How to prepare; character and script breakdown; pre-reads for daytime, primetime & film; callbacks; and screen tests

ON-SET TRAINING: Performance; direction; redirects incorporated through multiple takes; pick-ups; inserts; camera & stage blocking; and hitting your marks

THE BUSINESS OF ACTING: The most effective ways to market yourselves; acquire theatrical and commercial representation; get your start on daytime drama…and all sets in L.A.; and polishing up your headshots/resumes.

This 4-week workshop will be instructed by:
Don Phillip Smith is one of Hollywood’s most experienced instructors. Don is an Emmy Award-nominated Producer/Director/Casting Director with years of television experience on such series as CBS’ “The Young and the Restless”, “CSI: Miami”, “Medium”, NBC’s “Passions” and Aaron Spelling’s “Sunset Beach”. Currently, he is a member of the directing team at CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” He is also co-casting a new CW pilot in contention for the upcoming fall television season. As well, he is the Producer of a new HBO pilot currently in-development.
